Manchester United wantaway midfielder Paul Pogba has reportedly reiterated his desire to leave the club amid continuous interest from Real Madrid
Pogba was linked with a move to the Santiago Bernabeu last summer, but the deal never went through, although Real Madrid still look to take him to La Liga.
As per the Daily Express, the French star is keen on leaving Old Trafford and has already informed his teammates about his desire to part company with the Red Devils.
Pogba’s intention of leaving United has not changed his status in the dressing room, where remains a popular figure, the same source reports.
Pogba's still wants to leave United in the summer. Hasn't affected his popularity in the dressing room and players think a transfer is in the best interests of player and club #mufc https://t.co/it6XWlRBnb— Samuel Luckhurst (@samuelluckhurst) February 4, 2020
The 26-year-old has failed to live up to €105m the Premier League giants spent to sign him back from Juventus in 2016, often being criticized for the lack of attitude and form.
He has endured a torrid season so far, making just seven top-flight appearances due to several physical problems, and is unlikely to return to action anytime soon after undergoing another surgery.
Despite his ongoing fitness problems, Pogba still tops Zinedine Zidane’s wishlist, with the French manager looking to acquire his compatriot’s services at the end of the season.
Although Ole Gunnar Solskjaer recently put the World Cup winner in the center of his project, insisting Pogba will return to be a protagonist for United, the player’s long-term future seems to be lying far away from the Theatre of Dreams.
