The Brazilian legend Pele has dropped a hint over Kylian Mbappe’s future amid Real Madrid transfer links
Widely regarded as the future winner of FIFA Ballon d’Or, the French superstar has never stopped to amaze the audience ever since he broke into the AS Monaco’s first-team.
Although the 20-year-old continued to impress after moving to Paris Saint-Germain for a whopping €180 million, many critics believe he needs to move to a ‘more competitive’ league to become the best in the world.
However, Pele thinks Mbappe could write his name down in the history of football even if he decides to remain in PSG.
“Kylian does not need to leave PSG [to become the best in the world],” the 78-year-old said.
“He must continue to play the same way that he is already doing – that is how he will become the world’s best. That is important.
“If we are comparing Kylian with Pele, Pele never left Santos to be the best player in the world.”
The World Cup winner with France is enjoying a purple patch of form having already set his personal record of 27 goals bagged in a single Ligue 1 campaign.
Mbappe’s burgeoning talent has drawn attention from Real Madrid with Florentino Perez reportedly willing to shatter Neymar’s transfer record at the end of the season.
Although the Parisians remain adamant the pacey forward won’t leave Parc des Princes in the summer, a call from the reigning Champions League holders may be too difficult to reject for Mbappe.
