Pochettino talks after UCL clash against Barcelona

    Tottenham Hotspur manager Mauricio Pochettino was not a happy man. He was his Spurs side crumble under the mighty force of Spanish giants Barcelona in the Champions League.A brace by superstar Lionel Messi and first half strikes by Ivan Rakitic and Phellipe Coutino sealed a 4-2 win at Wembley. Although was in his vintage form by tearing up the opposition defence, the Spurs boss had a different view.Pochettino believes that it was goalkeeper Hugo Lloris’ error and not Messi’s brilliance that ultimately condemned them to the loss. Lloris made a lapse in judgement inside two minutes by rushing off his line which allowed Jordi Alba and Coutinho to combine for the opener.

    “If you watch football and understand it, you will know how hard is to come out of the dressing room and find yourself 1-0 down so early. It’s so difficult after this for the team to feel confident to play. It’s so tough. When you play at this level you can’t concede these type of chances.“When you concede in less than two minutes, it changes completely everything. The emotion becomes tough when you are playing against Barcelona and players like Messi and [Luis] Suarez,” he told Goal.Spurs lost their opening match against Inter Milan. They can redeem themselves as in their remaining four matches. They still have a trip to Nou Camp in their quest to qualify.
