PSG using secret weapon to hijack Barcelona’s move for Matthijs de Ligt

Paris Saint-Germain reportedly being a stumbling block between Barcelona and Ajax captain Matthijs de Ligt

The Catalans have already captured the services of the Lancers’ prodigy Frenkie de Jong and are said to be working around the clock to sign his fellow teammate de Ligt.

Liverpool and Juventus have also been monitoring the 19-year-old’s development and are ready to jump in once the transfer window opens.

However, the reigning Ligue 1 holders plan to steal the most talented defender on the planet, according to the Dutch news outlet RTL Nieuws.

The Parisians are working behind the smokescreen, using the super-agent Mino Raiola to facilitate the deal.

Raiola is currently negotiating Marco Verratti’s contract extensions, but the parties have also discussed a potential deal involving the Holland international, who is also Raiola’s client.

With Thiago Silva entering the final stage of his career, PSG have to find him a decent replacement, and de Ligt seems like a perfect solution.
