Real Madrid line up January move for Lyon star

Real Madrid have joined Liverpool and Chelsea in the race for Lyon captain Nabil Fekir, according to the French outlet L’Equipe. The 25-year-old forward was close to signing a deal with the Merseysiders last summer, but the transfer collapsed due to alleged knee problems Fekir has been suffering. However, in the Champions League opener against Manchester City, the World Cup winner demonstrated his class once again drawing the attention of the defending champions Real Madrid. Los Blancos have failed to secure the services of neither Chelsea’s Eden Hazard nor Paris Saint-Germain’s duo Neymar and Kylian Mbappe, as Florentino Perez plots a January move for Fekir to fill the gap left by the departure of Cristiano Ronaldo.Chelsea boss Mauricio Sarri is considered a huge fan of the French international and would also like to test the ground next winter, with Liverpool seeming to be thinking of reigniting their interest. With the injury of Isco Alarcon, La Liga heavyweights might be looking to make their move as early as January to avoid losing out on their target to the Premier League giants.
