Real Madrid outcast set to join AC Milan on loan with obligation to buy

Real Madrid misfit Theo Hernandez is on the verge of completing his move to AC Milan after the clubs

The 21-year-old will arrive at San Siro on a year-long loan, but the Rossoneri will have to make his move permanent for €20m next summer.

Brought in from bitter rivals Atletico Madrid in 2017 as one of the hottest prospects in La Liga, the former France U21 international has never managed to establish himself at the Estadio Santiago Bernabeu.

Often nailed to the bench in favor of Marcelo, Hernandez left Los Blancos to join Real Sociedad on a season-long loan last summer, registering 24 league outings for the Basque-based outfit last term.

However, it wasn’t enough for him to convince Zinedine Zidane to give him a chance at Real, especially following a £50m of Ferland Mendy from Lyon earlier this summer.

As a result, the ex-Deportivo Alaves man will continue his career in Serie A should his medical checks go smoothly on Monday.

Meanwhile, disappointed by displays from Ricardo Rodriguez and Diego Laxalt, the Milanese giants are hopeful Hernandez’s signing can improve things on the left flank.
