Real Madrid rekindle interest in Tottenham boss

According to the reputable British publication, the Metro, Real Madrid allegedly plot a £40million move for Tottenham Hotspur manager Mauricio Pochettino in the forthcoming transfer session.

Los Blancos are not having the best of times under Julen Lopetegui, who has so far struggled to convince the board despite some recent claims suggesting otherwise.

La Liga heavyweights have already lost three league matches, including the one against Levante at home last weekend. Although Lopetegui clinched a tight 2-1 triumph over Viktoria Plzen in midweek’s Champions League clash, his team’s performance was far from memorable.

Therefore, Los Merengues would like to hire a reliable manager that could accurately replace Zinedine Zidane, who has wrapped up three consecutive Champions League titles before parting company with the club last summer.

The Argentinean technician was Real’s first choice after the departure of the legendary Frenchman, but they’ve failed to persuade Daniel Levy to renounce the services of his chief of staff.

Now that Real Madrid trail Barcelona by four points in Spanish top flight, Florentino Perez would like to give one more shot and try to bring Pochettino at the Estadio Santiago Bernabeu.
