Reports: AC Milan weigh up January move for Cesc Fabregas

According to the Sun, the Italian heavyweights AC Milan are lining up a move to secure the services of Chelsea midfielder Cesc Fabregas in January. After the arrivals of Jorginho from Napoli and Mateo Kovacic from Real Madrid, the former Barcelona playmaker has been shifted to the bench and considering he entered the final year of his contract with the Blues, Leonardo believes he can wrap up the deal this winter. The Rossoneri have been chasing a creative midfielder during the summer, the one that can help out Lucas Biglia and Giacomo Bonaventura in the middle of the park, but they remained empty-handed eventually. The seven-time European champions failed to land neither Julian Draxler nor Sergej Milinkovic-Savic, leaving Gennaro Gattuso with José Mauri and Andrea Bertolacci as the only alternatives to the former Lazio skipper. In case Il Diavolo manage to clinch Fabregas deal, the 31-year-old Spaniard will join Tiémoué Bakayoko, who arrived at the Stadio Giuseppe Meazza this summer but has failed to leave up to expectations so far.
