Mario Balotelli could reportedly be on his way back to Serie A, with Fiorentina assessing the possibility of signing him on a free transfer
The 28-year-old forward is searching for new accommodation after parting ways with Olympique Marseille at the end of last season.
Although he was said to be closing in on a shock move to Flamengo a couple of days ago, the Artemio Franchi has now appeared as his possible destination.
Short of reliable attacking options, Vincenzo Montella sees Balotelli as a gamble worth taking, but he still has to convince the club’s hierarchy to take their chances with the controversial striker.

In spite of all the criticism about his unprofessional behavior on and off the field, 156 goals scored in his professional career can’t be taken away from him.
The Italian bad boy undoubtedly possesses a killer instinct. Only last term, the former Liverpool man has netted eight goals in 15 Ligue 1 outings for Marseille in the second half of the season.
Another plus for Balotelli is that he has an extensive Serie A experience having played for both Milanese giants, AC Milan and Inter, collecting 122 appearances in the Italian top-flight along the way.
