Manchester United wantaway star Romelu Lukaku is on the verge of swapping the Premier League for Serie A, according to the latest reports
Author of an underwhelming season, the Belgium international has fallen out of favor with Ole Gunnar Solskjaer and will depart Old Trafford in the summer.
Although he has scored just 15 goals in 45 top-flight outings for the Red Devils this term, Lukaku is still a wanted property, with Inter Milan seriously assessing the possibility of landing him in the forthcoming period.
The Nerazzurri are close to appointing Antonio Conte as their new chief of staff, and some recent reports have indicated that former Everton striker could be the board’s first gift to the new boss.
As reported by the British media, a meeting between Manchester United’s bigwig Ed Woodward and Inter Milan’s executives Giuseppe Marotta and Piero Ausilio has already been set up, with Lukaku’s faith said to be on the menu.
The Premier League outfit look for at least €60 million to give a green light, as they plan to raise funds for squad’s overhaul by offloading some of their outcasts, including Lukaku.
Meanwhile, the Milanese heavyweights plan to include Ivan Perisic as a makeweight in the deal that would drop transfer fee to the region of €30 million.
