Sevilla are reportedly closing in on the Inter Milan outcast Joao Mario, according to the latest reports from Italy
It has so far been a busy summer for the Andalusian side, who aim to compete for Li Liga top-four finish in the upcoming season following a mediocre 2018-19 campaign.
Diego Carlos, Jules Kounde, Joan Jordan, Sergio Reguilon, Nemanja Gudelj, Fernando, Oliver Torres, Lucas Ocampos, Rony Lopes, Moanes Dabbur, and Luuk de Jong all arrived at the Ramon Sanchez Pizjuan this summer.
However, Los Hispalenses are not willing to stop reinforcing their squad and are now eager to land the out-of-favor Inter Milan midfielder Joao Mario.
As reported by the Italian media, La Liga giants will soon seal the deal with the Nerazzurri that will see them bring the Portuguese playmaker on a season-long loan, with an option to make the deal permanent next summer.
Los Rojiblancos will reportedly pay €4million upfront for a loan, and it will take them €16million to make Mario stay if he manages to live up to expectations.
Meanwhile, although Antonio Conte won’t oppose Joao Mario’s departure, he will look for a low-cost replacement should Sevilla get the deal over the line this week.
Also, the Portugal international would see his first-team opportunities restricted next season should he eventually remain in Inter, as the club secured the services of Nicolo Barella and Stefano Sensi.
The 26-year-old arrived from Sporting Lisbon for €40million in 2016 but has never managed to prove himself at the Stadio Giuseppe Meazza, often struggling for form and regular first-team action.
