Bayern Munich boss Hansi Flick has confirmed Thiago Alcantara’s desire to swap the Bundesliga for the Premier League amid Liverpool links
Thiago has entered the final year of his contract at Bayern, and despite the club’s efforts to make him commit to fresh terms, he’s been reluctant to renew his deal.
Widely-regarded as one of the best players in his position in Europe’s top-five leagues, the 29-year-old playmaker has plenty of suitors interested in taking him away from the Allianz Arena.
But, Liverpool are reportedly the front-runners in the race to Thiago’s signature, with the likes of Paris Saint-Germain and Manchester City lagging behind.
Although the Reds have yet to take steps towards concertizing their interest in the former Barcelona midfielder, there’s a genuine feeling the deal will take place before the summer is over.

“I can understand when a player thinks about a move. Thiago played in Spain for Barcelona and in the Bundesliga for Bayern. If maybe he wants to play in the Premier League now, I totally understand." pic.twitter.com/dFxMrkXv58
Bayern manager Hansi Flick has now fueled speculations linking his wantaway star with a move to England’s top-flight by revealing Thiago’s future plans.
“I can understand when a player is concerned,” he said, as relayed by Goal.com.
“Thiago played in Spain for FC Barcelona and in the Bundesliga for FC Bayern Munich.
“If he wants to try again in the Premier League now, I totally understand. But it would be a shame because Thiago gives our game that certain something.
“That’s why I would like, as a coach, to have him on the team for the next few years, but that’s life. It would go on.”
