Tottenham Hotspur boss Jose Mourinho is reportedly growing more confident that he will be able to snap up Chelsea’s Kurt Zouma this summer
Zouma, who is valued at £25million by Chelsea, has emerged as Tottenham’s top defensive target for the upcoming transfer window.
Despite fighting his way back into Frank Lampard’s first-team set-up lately, the 25-year-old defender is likely to leave north London at the end of the 2019/20 Premier League season.
Zouma returned to Chelsea last summer after enjoying an impressive loan spell at Everton but has failed to convince Lampard to keep him on board beyond this season.
Meanwhile, as reported by the Metro, Jose Mourinho sees the French centre-back as an upgrade to his current defensive options and is confident of sealing the deal in the coming months.

Jan Vertonghen will leave Spurs at the end of the season after refusing to put pen to paper on a new deal, which will leave Mourinho short of reliable defenders.
Toby Alderweireld, 31, has entered the autumn of his career, while Juan Foyth and Davinson Sanchez both struggled for consistency throughout their respective careers at Tottenham.
If the Lilywhites manage to get the deal over the line, Zouma will become only a fourth player in history to swap Stamford Bridge for the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.
But, Everton manager Carlo Ancelotti could throw a spanner in the works, as he also looks to bring the former Saint Etienne man back to Goodison Park.
Zouma was a permanent fixture in Ancelotti’s starting eleven during his time at Everton, and he could as well relish the prospect of a reunion with the Italian tactician.
