Tottenham handed a major injury boost ahead of hectic February schedule

Ahead of Tottenham Hotspurs’ Premier League encounter with Leicester City, Mauricio Pochettino has revealed Harry Kane is about to overcome his a major injury setback a few weeks sooner than expected

The Spurs’ talisman has suffered an ankle injury against Manchester United last month, which has threatened to rule him out of action until March.

However, in spite of the initial forecasts, the 25-year-old seems to be edging closer to return, according to Tottenham boss.

“Now he is here, he is doing well, he is doing fantastic. You know very well we need to stop him every day because he wants to be ahead of his recovery,” Pochettino said on Friday.

“If you see him he’s nearly ready to play, but we need to be realistic too and of course in between all the areas to take the best decision.

“He’s so close to coming back again. Not for Sunday, not for Wednesday but we will see after.”

Meanwhile, Tottenham fans are eager to see their headline performer back to action as soon as possible.

Thrilled by Pochettino’s statement, the Spurs supporters have gone mad on social media.

If everything goes right, Kane could be in the squad to face Burnley on February 23, which is something the Clarets would like to avoid at all costs.
