Tottenham Hotspur have initiate contacts with Lyon for the highly-rated French youngster Tanguy Ndombele, according to the reports from England
Naturally gifted with pace and strength, the 22-year-old has enjoyed a remarkable season with Les Gones, attracting interest from a host of European heavyweights, including Manchester City, Juventus, and Real Madrid.
However, the Spurs are looking to beat the competition for Ndombele’s services, as they’ve already contacted Jean-Michel Aulas to negotiate the player’s price.
A stumbling block in Mauricio Pochettino’s efforts to lure the France international to the Premier League is Lyon’s €75m valuation of Ndombele, which is for the moment considered excessive by the North Londoners.
According to The Guardian, the Spurs chairman, Daniel Levy, is willing to offer €50m for the talented Frenchman, but with Aulas’ stubbornness, it will be a daunting prospect for Tottenham to seal the deal.
Still, Pochettino has a couple of backup options in case his attempts to sign Ndombele come a cropper, with Ajax’s Donny van de Beek and Roma’s Nicolo Zaniolo remaining the potential candidates to strengthen the Spurs’ midfield.
