Tottenham Hotspur try to scare off Inter Milan’s interest in Christian Eriksen as they slap a massive €100 million price tag on their star midfielder
With his current contract with the Spurs running out in 2020, Eriksen’s future still hangs in the air, especially as the sides have yet to discuss the potential extension.
The 27-year-old playmaker is a wanted property, with several major Europe clubs expressing their willingness to secure his services, including La Liga heavyweights Real Madrid and Serie A toppers Juventus.
59 – Christian Eriksen has now assisted 59 goals in his 200 Premier League games; only Cesc Fàbregas (66), David Beckham (62), Thierry Henry (61) and Dennis Bergkamp (60) provided more in their first 200 appearances in the competition. However, the recent inclusion of Inter Milan threatens to make things difficult for Los Blancos, especially after the Nerazzurri initiated contacts with Eriksen’s entourage over the past few days.
Tottenham chairman Daniel Levy doesn’t consider selling his prized asset for anything less than €100 million, which could be the stumbling block in the upcoming negotiations, according to ESPN.
Levy fights tooth and nail to persuade the Denmark international to prolong his stay in London, but should his efforts come a cropper he will look to cash in on the midfielder this summer.
