UEFA Champions League draw: Teams and updates

    The 2018/2019 UEFA Champions League draw is set to take place on Thursday in Monaco, France. The group stage draw for this years’ competition will commence at 5 p.m. (BST).There have been several changes enacted by UEFA for the elite European club football competition. Unlike last season, the fourth placed English team will not navigate through the tricky waters of a play-off.Essentially, all of Manchester City, Manchester United, Tottenham Hotspur and Liverpool advance straight to the group phase. Also, for the first time, Europa League winners in this case Atletico Madrid will be ranked amongst the top seeds.Europe’s best playersThe other six top seeds are league winners from Europe’s top six major leagues. The first top seed in the draw is the defending champions, Real Madrid.
