Unai Emery has explained the current situation of Mesut Ozil ahead of Arsenal’s Europa League showdown against Napoli
Often criticized for unprofessional behavior and lack of attitude, the 30-year-old has been at Emery’s mercy for the majority of the season.
But, Ozil’s football qualities including vision and a superb range of passing are something the Gunners have been missing in some vital games.
With the season entering its decisive stage, the Spanish manager needs former Real Madrid man at his pinnacle, as Arsenal fight the likes of Tottenham, Chelsea, and Manchester United for the Champions League promotion.

Ozil’s role in linking the midfield with forwards has been instrumental in the recent period, as Arsenal’s highest-paid star finally started to demonstrate his qualities under former Sevilla boss.
With the German’s importance to the team growing rapidly, Emery couldn’t have hidden his delight to see his best playmaker rediscovering his form.
“He is playing like a team player,” Emery said. “He’s working very well, playing very well. He’s helping us. I’m very happy with him.”
The North Londoners are now preparing for their upcoming Europa League challenge with Napoli, with the first leg set to take place at the Emirates Stadium on Thursday.
