Arsenal have dumped Napoli out of the Europa League quarter-finals to secure their back-to-back semis appearance following last season’s elimination to Atletico Madrid
After a comfortable 2-0 win at the Emirates Stadium, the Gunners have pulled off a narrow 1-0 triumph at the Stadio San Paolo to move one step closer towards winning their elusive first European silverware in the 21st century.
It was Alexandre Lacazette who sealed the North Londoners’ win on Thursday, but it could be a Pyrrhic victory should Aaron Ramsey fails to recover from a hamstring injury by the end of the season.
Arsenal boss Unai Emery has hailed his team’s personality during the post-match interview, marking the Gunners’ performance one of the season’s best.

“Yes (the players are heroes tonight), I’m proud of the players and supporters, who came here to be with us. We showed we can play matches against good teams with a big personality.
“With a big atmosphere here, we started very well. We didn’t consider the possibility of failing. I don’t know if it’s the best performance under my management, but it’s good to be carrying on in our way.”
The Premier League giants will go toe-to-toe win Emery’s former club Valencia in the Europa League semi-finals hoping to break into European final for the first time since the 2005-06 campaign.
