Valencia are reportedly weighing up a bid for their former defender Nicolas Otamendi, who is currently at the ranks of Manchester City
Otamendi joined City from Valencia for £32million in 2015 and has become an integral part of their successes throughout the years.
However, the 31-year-old was close to leaving the Etihad last summer, but after the Citizens found all offers for their centre-back unsatisfying, he stayed at the club.
Although he was expected to be a backup option for Aymeric Laporte this season, the Frenchman’s long-term injury has propelled the Argentine back to Pep Guardiola’s starting line-up.
Indeed, Otamendi has racked up 15 appearances in all competitions this term and also has two goals under his belt.
Still, with Laporte on the verge of returning to action, City could again consider offloading the ex-Valencia man. According to the Daily Mail, Los Ches are interested in bringing Otamendi back to the Mestalla this winter.
He won’t come cheap though, considering his contract at the Etihad runs out in the summer of 2022, which puts the reigning Premier League champions in a good bargaining position.
