Wanda Nara confident Mauro Icardi will stay at Giuseppe Meazza

Out-of-favour Inter Milan striker Mauro Icardi will remain at the club in spite of recent exit talks, according to Wanda Nara

The Argentinean has quickly gone from fans favorite to one of the most hated players at the Stadio Giuseppe Meazza after being stripped of club’s captaincy back in February.

Already fallen out with their former hero, the Nerazzurri fans have refused to hide their hatred for their No 9 by continuously throwing insults towards his direction.

After spending five weeks on the sidelines, former Barcelona youth academy product has returned to the first team, notching just one goal in four of his previous Serie A outings though.

However, Icardi’s wife and entourage, Wanda Nara, is positive her husband will continue at Inter next season in spite of some recent talks suggested he may swap Serie A for La Liga.

“We will continue here,” Nara told Canale 5, as cited by ESPN.

“We will remain here next year … He is much more serene now.”

Real Madrid and Atletico Madrid have both been mentioned as potential suitors for the 26-year-old, who allegedly has a €110 million release clause inserted in his contract.

Established as one of the most prolific goalscorers of his generation, former Sampdoria striker has bagged 110 goals in 183 top-flight appearances for the Milanese giants.
