Zlatan Ibrahimovic has identified Paris Saint-Germain star Kylian Mbappe as his favorite football player instead of Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo
The French youngster is enjoying another impressive start to the season, having netted 12 goals and provided eight assists in all competitions for the Parisians.
Widely regarded as a future Ballon d’Or winner, the 20-year-old forward has drawn attention from several of Europe’s big guns, including Real Madrid.
Mbappe’s stunning performances for PSG have also caught Zlatan’s eye, as the Swedish superstar named the World Cup winner as his favorite player.
“He is the difference-maker,” Ibrahimovic said, as reported by the Daily Mirror.
“He is still young, and we hope that he continues to work hard. Despite his age, he is already a star.
🗣 Ibrahimovic: "When Ronaldo played, everyone wanted to copy him. He was the one who made me stand in front of the TV watching the game.— Goal (@goal) December 5, 2019
"Today I don't see many like this. Maybe Mbappe… at 19 he is already a star. I hope he is still hungry and passionate about the game." pic.twitter.com/l2fsPdc6V8
“I hope he keeps his hunger and that he doesn’t fall out of love with football so that he can keep improving and achieving things.
“To do so, he has to keep a cool head, which isn’t always easy.”
The 38-year-old striker has, therefore, opted to snub the likes of Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo, whom he has recently tried to humiliate by saying he is not the ‘real’ Ronaldo.
Ibra has identified legendary Brazil forward Ronaldo Nazario as the real one.
“When he was playing, we all tried to copy him. He had such an elegant style of play.
“I used to watch his games, but I don’t so much anymore. Right now, my favorite is perhaps Mbappe, who stands out above all the rest.”
